Mary –
The heel was way too wide for a supposedly narrow boot.

Expected to wear an 8.5 or 9 in this boot. Tried the 9M and I can tell this boot will not work for me. The toe box is almost too tight with a regular cotton sock, but my heel is slipping terribly. So I can’t go down in size or change widths to solve my problems. But it’s a very nice looking boot and seems it would be comfortable if it fit correctly. Probably a bit overpriced, but I’d pay that for a well-fitting, warm, comfortable snow boot.

This boot was listed as wide calf but it was just a bit too tight to zip on my calf. I measured the inside of the top of the boot shaft and it’s 14″. I purchased a size 9 M. As far as shoe size, the 9 M fit great (I usually wear an 8/5/9). I checked that it felt true to width because I assume that by “width” they mean the foot width, not the calf. I had to return them but if you have a smaller calf, I would recommend them. It’s a really nice boot. Very fashionable and pretty.

The heel was pretty sloppy on my narrow foot, even though I bought a narrow. My other Trotter boots fit great. Not sure why these were wider in the heel. They felt slightly too short, but I know from my other Trotter boots that they stretch out a little after you wear them, so that would have been okay. I will, unfortunately, have to return them as they’re too wide for my skinny heel.

I also had to return these boots due to the loose heel and being too short. I ordered the 10.5 Narrow.

These fit my feet just right. I have narrow feet, and although sometimes I can find shoes/boots that are medium width but happen to run narrow, I was having a hard time finding boots like this this time around. I finally ordered these in a narrow. I’d say they are exactly what I was looking for. I’m surprised that some people say it’s too wide in the heel. Mine feel nice and snug. I’m generally an 8.5 or a 9, but the 8.5 is too small. The 9 (narrow) is perfect, and feels comfortably snug. They look nice, and the traction seems good (so far, although we’ve only had snowy sidewalks and not icy sidewalks yet). I suspect they aren’t really made for frigid weather (meaning probably below -10), but these will certainly be fine for our typical -10 to 20 degree-weather winter days, running errands and taking the dog out for a walk.

Heel was too wide. My heel was slipping out of the back of the boot. If you need a boot with removable insole, stick with earth…. they are true to size in width and length.

I have bunions and need to order wide widths despite having a narrow heel. These did not work because my foot slipped out when I walked. Loved the style as it is dressier than most winter boots. Ended up keeping the Sorrel boots in the same size and they were perfect!

As others have said, the heel is a bit wide. My foot didn’t slip too much with the insole that came with it, but once I exchanged it for my orthotics, my heel slipped badly. I am keeping them, though, because I don’t plan to walk extensively in them but just to have something to shovel snow in.

I love them but…I have high instep and arches. They rub on the top of my instep so I have to return them.

I love this boot and desperately want it to work. Right foot size, boot height, ease of wearing. BUT, like nearly everyone else said, the heel slippage is considerable. I think my foot moved up about 2 inches with every step! I’m going to try to modify that area with heel pads or soft foam or something because they’re otherwise perfect! The low score of two stars for comfort is only because of the heel slippage.

The heel was too large in the back.

I loved these boots, but I had too return them because they were too big in the heel. Other than that they fit perfectly.

I have narrow feet (7N) and did not think there were waterproof boots out there that actually fit. These were actually narrow enough, the length was good and the shaft was a perfect fit. These boots were a great buy for me.

Ordered these in 12M and thought they were too snug across my toes to be warm enough so exchanged for a 12W but unfortunately they were too wide and slipped as I walked so had to return them. Otherwise they were great boots, looked good, good support.

I’ve been wearing Trotters boots for years. I love the look of this boot. Although they fit perfectly, I find the toe so hard and uncomfortable, I decided to return and exchange for the next size up, but have to wait for it to be in stock. I was really disappointed in this change in the boot because my previous pair had a very comfortable toe area. Staying tuned…

I loved the look of this boot and it seemed like good quality. Unfortunately, the heel was way too large and my foot slipped completely out.

These boots are great looking. I sized up based on previous reviews however that didn’t work for me. My right foot needs a little wider toe box than the left. I can’t go up any larger or my heels slide around. Regrettably I had to send them back. if your foot is narrower than mine, go for it.

Oh, how I wanted to keep these boots. They are so stinkin’ cute and I’m sure they’d be warm, but as other reviewers have said, they are too wide in the heel and my foot pulls up each time I step. I ordered a AA as I have skinny feet, and they felt like a dream except for in the heel! Bah humbug! Thick socks might help in the heel but would make the rest of the boot too tight. Color me disappointed! Grateful for Zappos excellent customer service and return policy, for sure.
Dee –
As almost every other reviewer has said, they are cute, warm, and waterproof, but they do not hug the heels of my feet and so my feet keep lifting out of them when I walk. This is definitely a defect in design that really needs to be corrected by the manufacturer. It would be a perfect winter boot otherwise.
Kelly –
Nice and warm boots. size 10 WW feel more like a regular size 10. Maybe a 10.5 would have been more suitable. I had to return them.
Noelle –
Cute boot, but I wish the shaft was a little higher. Good fit for narrow, but don’t purchase if you need warmth. Why would they make a cold weather boot and not make sure it is reasonably warm? Thankfully I can wear thick wool socks on my narrow feet!

Perfect fit with thin socks really cute and super light on the feet for all day wear which is awesome.if you intend on wearing thick socks go a half size up or go for wide. Oh and great in snow! For this price you can’t go wrong

They are just what I needed for walking in the snow.
Lee –
I was looking at this boot for ranch wear but the upper is hard rubber or something and it does not give an inch. Horrible for girls with bunions. Otherwise a super cute boot and good shaft height. Has to go back….
