These are very wide in the heel. I am returning.
Sarah –
They are cute, but I had to return them. I wear 8.5D, and these were not quite wide enough in the toe box. But the arch support felt good (I have high arches), and they seemed to be well-made. Wish I could have kept them!
Rachel –
Such pretty shoes. A pity they felt short. I have other Trotters that feel more true to size.

I ordered a 12 M, but can wear 11 W. These did not feel quite as long as I expect a 12 to feel. The cut at the front/instep hit a problem area for me. I liked the appearance of the shoe; it just didn’t work for me.

I’ve been looking for a pair of brown flats with some sort of detail that elevated them beyond boring. These shoes did that! I love the buckle detail. They are comfortable out of the box although I confess I haven’t worn them out yet.

I tried these first in the medium width and the heel was way too loose. So then I tried narrow–heel felt great but toe is too tight. So unfortunately back they go.
Jen –
Lovely leather, comfortable out of the box. A good neutral brown for my constantly walking, talking, teaching, hiking -the -campus feet. Excellent arch support. And best of all, IT CAME IN A 10.5 ! It is very rare to find an almost-perfect shoe in a 10.5.
Thank you, Trotters and Zappos. I just might get a 2nd pair.
Marabeth –
I feel great wearing them, did not have to break them in so to speak. Arch support is wonderful.
My problem is I cant get Zappo’s off my computer now, every thing I try to look at, there are the shoes on my screen, I dont like that, when I get ready for more shoes, I’ll be back, and this nu-sense will not make me buy sooner as a matter of fact, makes me think of going else where to get them so I dont have this on my computer all the time.. Please take it off. STOP this annoying advertising.

Pros: Has cushioned sole and some arch support.
Cons: Toe-top pinches top of foot at edge! Heel is barely snug enough new outof-the box (surely would start slipping off after some wearing), and sides almost gappy (would surely be so after a bit of wearing). Wore them a few minutes in house, hoping I could keep them… noticed one foot getting puffy from the toe top of the shoe cutting off circulation!

I wear a size11-N. The back of the shoe was too wide and shallow to stay up on my heel, as was the Samantha style I just returned. This seems to be the “new” Trotters fit – not at all what I was expecting based on Trotter shoes I’ve had over the years. I’m really disappointed – I guess I will have to do without navy shoes in my choices this fall.
Joy –
I was really counting on this shoe fitting, but it was too wide for my 11-N foot, and slipped on the heel badly. Almost felt like the back of the shoe was too short to “grab on” to my foot. This was the second pair of Trotter flats I’ve tried in succession, and neither worked for the same reason. I believe they have changed their fit – or supplier, as my older Trotters were a better fit, and alas, much better quality materials. Disappointing!!
Lela –
These shoes looked and felt great. Work them to work the next day, all day and no problems.

Great fit and lots of support. Very stylish.
Ronda –
I am so glad I ordered these shoes. They fit well on my narrow feet, and the moderate arch support is just right for my flat feet. I wore them all day the first time I put them on, and they were very comfortable. I love them!
Carol –
The heels fit unequally and loose. I agree with other reviews that the vamp fit snug over toes. Did not seem worth the risk.
Very pretty shoe. What a shame.

I wear a 6 medium but as soon as I put these on I knew they had to go back. Much too narrow, maybe because of the buckle. getting. wide would have meant the heel would be too loose so I returned them.

Width of heel area on a 7 1/2 narrow shoe was not narrow enough. Shoe kept sliding off when walking.
Anonymous –
Unfortunately, these shoes were much too wide despite their narrow designation.

I wear a double wide shoe. Finding a cute shoe that is comfortable is hard to do. This shoe is wide enough, but there is a gap in the arch area. Small price to pay. The shoe is not super soft and flexible, but maybe will loosen up over time.

These shoes had it all–the wide had a comfortable toe box for my C width feet; and NOT a wide heel (which is a good thing–not every size 10 is big at the back!); There was no toe cleavage showing, the shape of the toe was attractive, and they were quite comfortable to walk in.
The only problem was the coloration/dye was uneven in the pair I received–It was darker and burnished around where the little toe curving was on both shoes, and again at the toe of one shoe. I suspect in a different color this would be a non issue, but I had a lighter color.

I was so certain that these shoes would fit well given my previous experience with Trotters that I went ahead and wore them out of the house on the first day. Unfortunately, the placement of the buckle creates a pressure point and my four toe on both feet was badly blistered by the end of the day. I love my other Trotters (which also have a buckle on top). I’ll be more careful in the future!

It was too tight where my foot entered the toe box. Too bad, because I like the shoe
Hilary –
They ran large, just enough so they’d slip off my feet. The arch support was too high. They felt true to width.
Anonymous –
The fit was 1/4 size too large, and the arch support was too high.
Anonymous –
Shoe fit length-wise, but it gaped on the sides. more so when I walked.
